Hi all,

It's Joseph here. I was wondering how the drummers on here like their drums,
specifically toms and snares tuned. Also, do you prefer to use single or double
headed toms?

Depends. If I'm playing softer, or more indi style, I prefer single headed toms. It makes for a better sound with brushes or whippits. If I want a hard, rocker sound, I typically tune a bit tighter and/or bring my toms in that are double headed.

I prefer to tune my toms as low as I could. and double headed of course. using remo pinstripe or evans g2/ec2 for batter and g1 for reso.
and hi tuning for my snare with remo ambasador coated for the batter.

I just leave my snares as they are. If I know I'm going to be using a different one on a gig, I make sure to take it out a few days before and give it a hit or 2. It normally only takes a 5 or 10 minute tuning session to get it sounding the way I want. As for toms, it all depends as I've got 2 acoustic kits.

Never really been a drummer, but I like kickdrums to go thump thump, not click click, and snares to go clap clap, not clang clang. heh.
